From NCAAF Upsets to Pop Stars: Your Weekly Briefing

Several stories accumulated this week in both the sports and the entertainment worlds.  Find out which team pulled off the upset of the year (that's right I said year), which celebrity broke the law, and which cellphone retailer postponed their product again.

UPSET: The Nittany Lion Kings
One of the largest stories in sports occurred in Beaver Stadium on Saturday night, when the Penn State Nittany Lions upset the #2 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes, 24-21.  Over 10,000 students stormed the field to get a chance at getting near Trace McSorley, Saquon Barkley, or Grant Haley.  The victory subsequently knocked Ohio State down to #6 and raised Penn State to #24, ranking the Nittany Lions for the first time since 2011.  Penn Staters stormed College Avenue and began tearing down everything in sight, including lamp posts and stop signs.  University Park administrative officials claim that students typically riot once a year...well so far we're at two and it's only October.

JT Rocks the Vote: Suit and tie...and pantsuit
Justin Timberlake is in some hot water for his social media presence on Monday.  Reports state that Mr. Timberlake flew back to his home in Memphis, Tennessee to cast an early ballot.  Although, the "Can't Stop The Feeling" singer felt the need to promote his, Get Out The Vote rhetoric, by snapping a selfie in the polling booth and posting it on Instagram.  Unfortunately, last year, incumbent Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam sign a bill prohibiting pictures inside the voting booth.  The reason being that individuals are highly recommended to keep their political voice quiet, but c'mon it's not like we don't know who JT is voting for...

Apple's AirPods: The joy of hate
Apple has recently postponed the release date announcement for its widely criticized AirPods, where officials have claimed the product is not ready to be distributed.  The AirPods are currently expected to sell for $159, but do not have an expected date yet.  While rumors have circulated that the Bluetooth connection has been an ongoing issue within each pod, a spokeswoman for Apple refused to comment on the reason for the delay.  Although, consumers are speculating that Apple most likely just lost the prototype.

Justin Bieber: What a "Baby"
At his concert in Manchester, UK this week, Justin Bieber received criticism for storming off the stage during his show.  The "Sorry" singer argued that he was simply trying to speak in between several of his songs, although fans booed, demanding him to continue with the music.  While the Biebs did return to the stage to finish the concert, he was clearly fazed by his fans' disinterest in letting him speak...kind of like someone else who got no time to speak.

Nuclear Weapons: Put-in your money where your mouth is...
Russia has officially unveiled their newly created Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile, capable of reaching the United States and destroying an area the size of Texas.  This rocket is also stated to have the ability to destroy targets flying across the North and South poles.  This weapon, succeeding the  R-36M Voyevoda, weighs 100 tons and has a range of 11,000 kilometers, or 6,835 miles.  Russian President Vladimir Putin is calling the missile, "Satan 2," although Trump claims he would have called it, "Nasty Woman 2."

From Bad Hombres to Nasty Woman: Your Weekly Briefing

On Wednesday night, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton squared off for the final time in this election cycle.  While I can promise this will be my final debate blog, I cannot promise that this will by the final mention of Hillary and The Donald.  With 18 days to go, find out which candidate mentioned their support for "The Wall," or candidates...

Pre-Debate: Be our guests
Yet again, the candidates spent their days before the debate playing psychological warfare with each other.  Initially, Secretary Clinton extended an invitation to supporter Mark Cuban, who has recently reviled and disavowed several of Mr. Trump's statements.  In retaliation, Donald invited President Obama's Kenyan-born, half-brother, Malik as his guest, who is openly supporting Mr. Trump.  So that's what he meant when he said Obama was born in Kenya...

Hillary: I'm With Her...Wall?
Midway through the final debate, moderator Chris Wallace brought up the concept of illegal immigration, immediately prompting passionate responses from both candidates.  Naturally, Mr. Trump brought up his agenda to build a "beautiful wall," and pushed back on Secretary Clinton due to her support of open borders, which would allow illegal immigration to continue for four to eight years.  In her rebuttal, Mrs. Clinton stated that she is strongly against the deportation of 11 million immigrants, as proposed by Mr. Trump.  On the other hand, she claims that in 2006 she actually voted for a border wall, virtually defending Trump's strongest and most controversial political stance.  Did we miss something...

Donald Trump: Deport the "bad hombres"
When discussing immigration, at one point Mr. Trump referred to the millions of illegal immigrants as "bad hombres," causing a slew on comments from the media, as well as the pro-immigration Hillary Clinton base.  While Secretary Clinton argued that the comment was inappropriate, pro-Trump supporters believe that it was a quick and witty response by using the Spanish word to further defend his wall aspirations.  Although, who knew Mexican-immigrants would be insulted over a candidate speaking in their native language?

Chris Wallace: Dishing out the tough questions
By far the most shocking moment of the night was when Chris Wallace asked whether Donald Trump would accept the election results, theoretically asking Mr. Trump to revoke his rigged election claims.  To much surprise, The Donald simply stated he would "wait and see" how November 8th plays out.  This response was extremely similar to his remarks made at the first Republican Primary Debate and look how that turned out.

Crooked Hillary: Gets a new nickname
Just when America thought the divisive rhetoric was slowing down, during one of Hillary's last responses, Mr. Trump muttered into the microphone, "she is a nasty woman."  Not only was the comment totally uncalled for, but also inhumane keeping in mind he could be the next President.  Being completely honest, his comment is 100% true but you can't say that on national television.  That's like being on national television and calling Marco Rubio sweaty, Carly Fiorina ugly, Jeb Bush low-energy, Rand Paul a loser, John Kasich pathetic, and Ted Cruz a liar.  I mean that stuff just doesn't happen.

From Trump's Words to Bill's Women: Your Weekly Briefing

Another week, another debate.  Yet again, politics overwhelmed the media this week, forcing myself to follow suit.  With this blog dedicated to the Second Presidential Debate of 2016, find out which candidate opened their big mouth yet again.  Spoiler alert, it was Trump.

According to Trump: Does money buy you happiness?
Last Friday, the Washington Post leaked an Access Hollywood audio clip in which Donald Trump bragged about how his wealth enabled him to hook-up with virtually any woman he wanted.  The tape even caught him saying, you can "grab her by the p---y."  Ironically, at the debate, he didn't even grab Hillary by the hand.

The Winner: Who nose?
Within about three minutes of the debate, Donald Trump's sniffles made a reappearance.  Naturally, Americans on social media went crazy with comical interpretations of the nasal "spasms."  On the other hand, Mr. Trump is refuting the ridiculous statements, claiming he was simply breathing through his nose.  The Clinton Campaign is joking that maybe Donald is allergic to the truth, although the Trump Campaign hit back saying maybe he's allergic to lies.  I mean he was awfully close to Hillary...

Town Hall: Yes we Ken!
Throughout the debate, the candidates yielded questions on a variety of topics including Roe v. Wade, renewable energy, and Obamacare, from the St. Louis audience.  Hillary took strong stances in favor of partial birth abortion, increased renewable energy industries, and adding to the framework of Obamacare.  On the other hand, Donald Trump took strong stances on being pro-life, increased support of the coal industries, and repealing Obamacare.  Post-debate focus groups, as well as the American public, claimed the real winner was the one-and-only, St. Louis resident, Ken Bones.

Fact Checkers: A woman's best friend
Beginning each response, Secretary Clinton fell into an easily distinguishable routine where she would plead for Americans to fact check, virtually all of Mr. Trump's statements, and subsequently visit her website for further information on her policies.  It was eventually totaled that Mrs. Clinton referenced the fact checkers four times, and her website five times.  Naturally, most viewers grew unimpressed considering Secretary Clinton is soooooo technologically savvy.

Donald Trump: No more "Mr. Nice Guy"
Resulting from Hillary Clinton inviting Mark Cuban to the previous debate, Donald Trump decided to level the playing field by inviting four of Bill Clinton's past accusers to his family's booth.  While officials in charge of the debate did not allow the accusers to sit in the family box, there were still present at the debate, as expressed by Bill Clinton.

Disregarding mudslinging: Does love trump hate?
Ironically, the question that drew the most praise from the debate asked the candidates what they liked most about one another.  While Trump ended the debate on a positive note, praising Hillary for her drive, Mrs. Clinton dodged the question saying her favorite aspect of Donald was his kids.  Mr. Trump played it off well, explaining that he appreciated the heartfelt compliment.  I mean, we all know he loves kids, but for sure, one in particular.

From Clowns to Vice Presidents: Your Weekly Briefing

From national elections to local skirmishes, this week in politics was...odd.  If it's not already obvious, find out which college made headlines and which Vice Presidential Candidate prevailed.

Homecoming: Where students go wild!
Homecoming week has descended upon thousands of colleges across the country.  Millions of college students are given the opportunity to partake in activities and express school spirit, prior to the widely acclaimed Homecoming football games that coming Saturday.  The University of Iowa faculty held a Casino Night, the University of Maryland departments hosted a Comedy Show, Ohio State University alumni organized a university-wide tailgate, and Penn State University students salvaged State College hunting for clowns.

Penn State: Foot-bowl?
Going along with the PSU theme, Penn State football defeated the previously undefeated Minnesota Golden Gophers 29-26, in overtime, on Saturday night.  This significant comeback win now makes the Nittany Lion's path to a bowl game much more plausible.  Depending on how the remainder of the season pans out, Penn State could potentially find itself in Donald Trump's favorable game once again.

Gary Johnson: Who...?
According to new polling from FiveThirtyEight, Libertarian Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson has officially polled over 25% in the state of New Mexico, putting Democratic Candidate Hillary Clinton at 34% and Republican Candidate Donald Trump at 31%.  Pollsters are speculating that if Gary Johnson were to pull off an upset and subsequently win New Mexico, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton would both be short of 270 electoral college delegates.  This would then send the election into the House of Representatives, basically handing Hillary the Presidency due to the high unfavorable rating of Trump within the Republican insiders.  In this scenario, Hillary Clinton wins the Presidency and Donald Trump builds a wall around just New Mexico.

VP Debate: Shoot, was that last night??
Tuesday night, Democratic Vice Presidential Candidate Tim Kaine faced off against Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Mike Pence in a one-on-one debate.  Tim Kaine spent the majority of the 90 minutes exploiting a plethora of memorized Donald Trump quotes, while Mike Pence spent his time defending his running mate, relaying an agenda, and delivering zingers against Senator Kaine.  On the other hand, most viewers grew discouraged by the constant bickering while the opposing veep was speaking.  After the debate, it was discovered that Mike Pence interrupted Tim Kaine 37 times and Tim Kaine interrupted Mike Pence 60 times!  At least America was able to experience what a normal Presidential debate is supposed to look like, two old white guys yelling at each other on the stage.  I mean, until about 25 minutes in where they changed the channel.

Paris: The city of love?
Speaking of Presidential candidates, Kanye West postponed several of his upcoming tour dates due to a robbery that occurred with his wife, Kim Kardashian-West, in Paris, France.  According to sources, five men, disguised as cops, broke into Kim's room around 3 am, zip-tied her hands behind her back, threw her into the bathtub, and stole $11 million worth of jewelry.  While Kim was reportedly not harmed, Keeping Up With The Kardashians superfans anticipating the next episode are wondering, "OMG does she make it out alive??"

In all seriousness, I'm just glad Kanye didn't postpone his State College concert or else the clown riots would've just been a warm up...
