Trump's America: Your Weekly Briefing

It's been ten days after the election, and reality is finally setting in.  Donald Trump is President-elect of the United States of America.  Find out how he won and what to expect for the next four to eight years.

Trump: From zero to hero
On Tuesday, November 8th, over 119 million Americans cast their ballot for whom they believed should be the 45th President of the United States.  In one of the most chaotic, unorthodox, and controversial elections of all time America has spoken, and they are heard loud and clear.  Real estate tycoon Donald J. Trump from Manhattan, New York will be the next President.  After being laughed at by The Washington Post, The New York Times, CNN, CNBC, SNL, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, and frankly millions of Americans...look who's laughing now.

Football and Politics: The year of the upsets
Already in the NCAAF this year, two Pennsylvania football schools have upset #2 ranked teams.  On Saturday, October 22nd, unranked Penn State defeated #2 ranked Ohio State, and on Saturday, November 12th, unranked Pitt defeated #2 ranked Clemson.  But who could forget the biggest shock of all, on Tuesday, November 8th (or Wednesday, November 9th), when the entire state of Pennsylvania upset #1 ranked Hillary Clinton.

Jinx: The struggle is real
Most Americans refused to go near a newspaper on Wednesday morning, following the election, in an effort to block out what they had hoped was a crazy nightmare.  Although, what most people aren't aware of, is that The Huffington Post jumped the gun by publishing a cover page of Mr. Trump's face with the word "LOSER," across the top, before the results even came in.  This not only proves how incorrect the media was, regarding the outcome of the election, but also that mistakes happen to everybody.

Trump's Cabinet: To be determined
President-elect Donald Trump has already begun forming his cabinet, in which Vice-President-elect Mike Pence is currently overseeing.  Potential cabinet members include Neurosurgeon Ben Carson, Former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin, Former Mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, and Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.  Notice that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's name was not included in that bunch.  Social media websites are going ballistic considering Christie was one of the earliest insiders to endorse Mr. Trump, as well as stand by his side throughout the entire campaign.  The president-elect states that he has cold feet about appointing Governor Christie in regards to the Bridge-gate scandal.  When Christie received news of this from the Trump camp, he replied...

Keeping Up With The Clintons: The shocking season finale
According to various sources, Former President Bill Clinton and Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton got into a very heated argument over the phone, only days after the election.  His security staff reports that Former President Bill was extremely red in the face when on the phone, continuing to name-drop James Comey, who may or may not have cost his wife Hillary the election.  Arkansas residents spotted Bill throwing his phone off of a balcony, at his Arkansas penthouse.  He must have been using a Samsung.

From Trump's Comeback to the Cub's Comeback: Your Weekly Briefing

With four days left until the 2016 Presidential Election, America was expecting the state of the race to ease down with Hillary's large lead becoming nearly impossible to surpass.  Although, this is Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump we're talking about.  Find out how Donald Trump turned a -6 point differential to a +1 lead in a matter of days.

Hillary's Email: They're baaaaaaaaaaaack
Last Friday, FBI Director James Comey officially re-opened the investigation of Secretary Hillary Clinton's emails after finding evidence of past emails on disgraced Former Congressman Anthony Weiner's server.  Clinton campaign aid, and former spouse of Anthony Weiner, Huma Abedin, refused to comment on the story, and is currently laying low in her Manhattan penthouse.  This news shocked the media since there is rarely a major announcement within two weeks of Presidential elections.  While Mr. Trump is lavishing in the positive impact it had on his campaign, I think it's safe to say that Hillary did not have a Happy Hallo-weiner.

Trump vs. The Establishment: Kasich strikes back
Despite the fact that Donald Trump is currently leading every swing state, including Iowa, Ohio, North Carolina, Florida, and Nevada, Ohio Governor, and Former Republican Presidential Candidate John Kasich, still refuses to support the Nominee Donald Trump.  While Speaker of House Paul Ryan bit the bullet, and announced that he submitted his early ballot in Wisconsin for Mr. Trump, Governor Kasich stated that he wrote in Arizona Senator John McCain.  This vote is extremely disheartening to the RNC considering McCain was beaten significantly by Obama in 2008, as well as Ohio being a key swing state for Mr. Trump.  Although, hopefully Kasich's crucial vote is counted, because Ohio residents have a reputation of misspelling names.

World Series: 10 innings, 15 runs, 5.5 hours, 1 rain delay
On Wednesday night, or should I say Thursday morning, the Chicago Cubs defeated the Cleveland Indians to win the 2016 World Series with a score of 8-7, breaking the unofficial curse that has prolonged for 108 years!  After one of the most interesting Game 7s of all time, a ground ball to Cubs third basemen, Kris Bryant, ended the game at 12:23 am.  With four outs left in the game, Cubs closer Aroldis Chapman surrendered a game tying two-run home run in the bottom of the 8th inning.  Not only did the game head to extra innings, but there was a 25-minute rain delay prior to the 10th.  After winning the series with just a 13% chance, after going down three games to one, fans are wondering...I guess it was LeBron's turn to blow a 3-1 lead.

Legalization of Marijuana: High hopes
A Gallup poll was recently released showing that 60% of Americans supporter the legalization of marijuana.  Ballot initiatives have proven that soon marijuana could be legalized in five new states including Maine, Massachusetts, California, Nevada, and Arizona.  Supporters claim that taxes on recreational marijuana will help decrease the national debt, while also increasing "tourism" to these select states.  I doubt Arizona visitors would spike because of the Grand Canyon, rather the Grand Can-nabis.
